Close to Cape Agulhas, the furthest point south in Africa, lies the 34 000 Ha De Hoop Nature Reserve. It is next to a marine protected area stretching 5kms into the sea.

· Snorkel at low tide.

· Bluebottle alert. A consistent south-east wind from the ocean for a couple of days will blow in bluebottles.

· Whale hike recommended—a 5-day hike next to the sea.
